The hotel situated in a historical building in the square in the town centre offers romatic accommodation. The hotel’s achievements:
- in 2000 the HOTREC Professional Association awarded the hotel with a Certificate authorising it to use four stars as its classification rating in accordance with article 17 of the Act no. 456/1991 on Trades. (Trades Licensing Act ). The award was based on the result of an independent inspection of provided services.
- in 2001 the a poll took place within the frame of the "My hotel" inquiry, in which people all over the Czech Republic voted for "their" most favourite hotel in public inquiry.. Hotel Havel placed thirteenth and it ranked among the top 50 hotels in the Czech Republic.
- in 1997 an international meeting of government ministers of the Czech Republic and Poland took place at the hotel
- The hotel is a regular meeting place of the Glacensis Euroregion

History:
The hotel was built in 1860 and it was named after the first hotelier Mr. Karel Havel. During the whole last century it belonged among the best hotels in the Orlické mountains area.
In 1951 - 90 it was renamed to "Hotel Rudá hvězda" (Red Star Hotel)
In 1994 - 95 the hotel was completely rebuilt to meet the present -day demands on a modern hotel.
At the present time the hotel building is the property of Rychnov nad Kněžnou and it operated by Hotel Havel company under the leadership of Mr Miroslav Špaňhel.
